The Kaikini family came to the U.S. from India in the 1970s in search of a better life. Five decades have passed since then and three generations have changed their identity and their way of life.

The Americans weaves a choral, intergenerational narrative that navigates identity conflicts in the process of Americanization through the memories and archival footage of an Indian American family.
